At the July 22 meeting, Brooks County ISD trustees approved a set of contracted services for the 2026–27 school year. The board approved the ESC Region 2 ASCENDER business and student software subscription (service period Sept. 1, 2026–Aug. 31, 2027) covering state reports, hosting and disaster recovery. Trustee Dominique C. Alegria moved approval of the ASCENDER services; the motion passed 6–0.
The board also approved a contracted service agreement with Ramiro Gonzalez to serve as an Armed Peace Officer stationed at the elementary school "for safety and security purposes as required." The board approved a contracted agreement with Cesar Cantu for district IT support and separate agreements to provide occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology and counseling services for students. All motions were recorded as approved unanimously. The minutes do not specify contract dollar amounts or staffing vendors beyond the named individuals and vendor entities.
