Commissioners approve routine resolutions, hear staff reports and note several vendor issues

During the Feb. 24 meeting commissioners approved several routine resolutions including payment of listed purchase orders (Resolution #103-26), a transfer of $895.02 from Indigent Defense Fund #8180 to General Fund #1001 (Resolution #104-26), and an additional appropriation to the Severance Fund #2136 (Resolution #105-26). The board also approved amended travel for the Engineer and proclaimed March 25, 2026 as Margaret "Peggy" Grandbois Day. All listed motions were moved by William Bateson, seconded by Timothy Bechtol and passed by a 3-0 vote.
Staff and commissioners delivered reports: Commissioner Bechtol chaired the OCERP quarterly meeting and said RCM Architects is ready to meet about the Treasurer's office remodel; MEP drawings are pending for the Olive Street building bid package; maintenance awaits Wood County inspection of a new wall before drywall. Phil Johnson flagged two vendor matters: FastSigns requested a 50% down payment for an Olive Street sign not reflected in the contract, and 4R Textiles asked the county to pay a variance application fee for a donation bin placed outside a permitted zoning district. The board recorded those requests for follow-up and noted additional scheduled work session topics.
