President Pam Johnson opened a public hearing at 6:15 p.m. on the budget and proposed tax rate, which included a presentation by Leesa Grimaldo and two representatives from the Region 17 Educational Service Center. "There was no one present who wished to address the board regarding the budget and tax rate; therefore, President Johnson stated that the public hearing was over at 6:35 p.m.," the minutes state.
The board approved a resolution levying the 2024–2025 tax rate, recorded in the minutes as "$0.07994 per $100 value for the purposes of maintenance & operation, and $0.02901 per $100 value for debt service for a total of $1.08950 per $100 value," which the minutes note is a decrease of "$0.0115 from 2023–2024." The motion to adopt the resolution was moved by Paul Chandler, seconded by Heath Huffhines, and passed 5–0.
