The Board of Trustees of Lockhart Independent School District met in a special session on May 7, 2026, at the M.L. Cisneros Education Support Center and used the meeting to recognize a slate of student and program achievements. Board President Michael Wright called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.; trustees recorded as present included Rene Rayos, Rebecca Pulliam, Dr. Barbara Sanchez (Board Secretary), Chris Charles, Sam Lockhart and Tom Guyton.
The trustees listed a series of recognitions during the meeting. Items recorded in the minutes included Lever Leader Academy and the LISD Leadership Summit; student honors such as Elementary and Junior High "Million Word Readers"; Technology Student Association (TSA) state winners; FFA stock show winners; 4-H youth recognition; a Scholastic Gold Key winner; THSCA Academic All-State recipients from the soccer program; and color guard units at both Lockhart Junior High School and Lockhart High School. The minutes state that public comment was "None." The meeting was adjourned at 6:26 p.m. by Board President Michael Wright.
