City staff briefed the EDA on a condensed strategic-planning exercise intended to provide ideas to the city council’s consultant-led process. The staff presentation asked the board to identify what is working well, what is not, and what should be prioritized. Members identified an active downtown, recent earned media and proximity to population centers as strengths while citing a weak industrial/commercial tax base and limited developable land as constraints.
