City staff and contractor Renewal Energy Partners outlined conditional state grants that would cover roughly 70% of installation costs for solar on the new Lindstrom Fire Station and the municipal liquor store, with the city responsible for cash-flowing reimbursable expenses and awaiting Xcel Energy MOUs before final contracts.

The full story

City staff presented conditional state solar grants for two city buildings and described next steps for final approval and cash-flowing reimbursement claims. "The approval was contingent on the city submitting 2 years' worth of utility data for the liquor store, as well as a signed interconnect MOU, from Xcel Energy," the staff member said, noting the city had submitted utility data and was awaiting the MOUs. Staff said the state grant would reimburse about 70% of each installation and that federal tax credits were expected to cover much of the remaining cost.
