The Rush County commissioners approved a $20,000 appropriation from the pretrial conversion fund to advertise and temporarily fund a position so an outgoing prosecutor can train a replacement ahead of an early-November transition. Tyus Green said the money would cover salary and benefits for an eight-week overlap and that about $51,000 remains in the fund.
"So I'm asking the $20,000, if you pay around for that to cover salary benefits involving all that whatever's necessary, for that 2 month period, 8 week period, primarily because mister Thompson, the governor is now tasked for the money filed against hearing for a superior court judge who is going to be superior court judge start of January," Tyus Green said during the request. A motion was recorded and seconded; the transcript indicates the motion carried even though an itemized roll-call was not read aloud.
