Chair Blake Petersen and Director Shawn Farrens described the process the board will use to evaluate Superintendent Dr. Tracy Klinger. The board will use a Google Forms questionnaire with a 0.5–4 calibration scale; individual board responses are compiled by the board secretary and reviewed by the Superintendent Evaluation Committee on Feb. 27. Results will be presented in executive session at the March 5 work session and summarized in a public letter presented during the March 5 business meeting.
Director Farrens explained the committee will provide calibration guidance and hyperlinks to supporting evidence in the digital form; some board members expressed concern that calibration comments might influence how peers score the superintendent. Responses are due by 4:00 p.m. on Feb. 20. The board noted state law requires the superintendent’s evaluation to be made publicly available and that customary letters highlight areas of strength and one area for growth.
No rating results or formal evaluation outcomes were decided at the Feb. 12 meeting; the process timeline and submission instructions were the substantive items discussed.
