Board approves revised facility-use policy after public comments
After public comments expressing concern, the Tarkington ISD board approved Option 2 of proposed changes to GKD (Local) governing nonschool use of facilities, including updated fee schedules and area restrictions.

Communications Director Stephanie Young presented proposed revisions to Board Policy GKD (Local) and accompanying facility-use guidelines, including proposed fee schedules for nonprofit and for-profit groups and restrictions on certain areas. Several members of the public—Julie Fly, Ryan Smith and Chase Carpenter—addressed the board during the open forum with remarks about the proposed changes.
