Pitman officials praise coordinated response to rail-line brush fires
Council members and the mayor thanked Pitman fire, police, OEM, NJ Forest Fire Service and neighboring departments for their response to brush fires along the railroad corridor; officials said there was property damage but no loss of life.

Council members reported on a lengthy brush fire that ran along the railroad corridor through Pitman in mid-April. Councilman Uyehara relayed thanks from the police chief and deputy chief to Pitman Police officers, Pitman Fire Department, County OEM, Pitman OEM, County Communications, NJ Forest Fire Service and numerous outside fire companies for their assistance in containing the fires.
