Students and staff recognized for growing dual-enrollment program with SWTJC

Mrs. Melissa Matter, the district's dual enrollment instructor, presented the district's partnership with Southwest Texas Junior College (SWTJC). She reported 17 high school students enrolled in College Algebra (full-year), with 15 currently earning college credit and two within five points of the passing threshold. Staff engagement was also strong: 18 staff enrolled in college-level courses and 15 staff members were on track to earn credit or already earning A's and B's.
Several students were present and recognized for managing rigorous college-level deadlines alongside basketball schedules. Superintendent Chris Yeschke commended the program's rollout and said it is "now hitting its stride" after early implementation challenges between the district and SWTJC.
