Community services announces new permanent supportive housing program

Rockbridge Area Community Services announced a new permanent supportive housing program to help address homelessness, plus a veteran breakfast, suicide-prevention awareness, CIT training, and plans for a possible community flu clinic.
BreAnne and Sarah from Rockbridge Area Community Services told the LEPC they will host a free veteran breakfast next week, are observing suicide prevention awareness month, and will run a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training Sept. 15–19.
"New program- Permanent supportive housing program, will help address the homeless issue," Sarah said, describing a new program the agency is launching to provide longer-term housing supports for people experiencing homelessness. BreAnne said the agency will also host a flu vaccine clinic for staff and possibly open it to the community.
The agency asked partners to help spread word about trainings and outreach events and said it will report back to the LEPC on program rollout and clinic details when they are finalized.
