The Board of Commissioners on July 8 adopted the Clark County Fairgrounds Emergency Operations Plan 2026, establishing a framework for coordinated actions, roles and response protocols for emergencies at the fairgrounds. The plan’s stated purpose is to improve preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation and to protect life and property during large events.
Commissioner Charles A. Patterson moved to adopt the plan, Commissioner Greg R. Kaffenbarger seconded, and the board approved the plan unanimously. Chief Legal Counsel Beau Thompson and Emergency Management Agency staff have finalized lease and mapping work in parallel to clarify boundaries and responsibilities used to inform the plan.
