Commission corrects typographical appendix labels in 2021 International Residential Code adoption

The Robertson County Commission on March 23 approved a technical correction to its previously adopted amendment to the 2021 International Residential Code. County staff said the amendment only adds a prefatory 'A' to appendix letter references after a printing discrepancy in the new code publication and that the appendices themselves remain the same.
Planning staff explained that when the county received the new code book the appendix letters had been revised to include the leading 'A' and that the correction was to align local language with the publisher's updated labeling. "We're still accepting the same appendixes... they just need to have that a added in front of them," a county planning staff member said. The commission moved, voted and the chair announced the resolution passed with an oral tally reported as "22 4 0" in the meeting transcript.
County staff characterized the item as a clerical correction rather than a substantive policy change. The correction was adopted during the public hearing segment for zoning matters and will be recorded in county code records.
