The Vernal City Council on April 15 approved an $18,000 sponsorship for the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, with $1,000 designated for the Special Needs Rodeo. Carson Young, president of the rodeo, told the Council the prior year's event "hosted 626 professional contestants representing multiple states" and welcomed spectators from 35 states and international attendees from Europe; he said organizers aim to expand attendance and are planning entertainment and specialty acts for this year's event.
