Events DC says it is leading RFK demolition, will be engaged on redevelopment and contributed toward parking
Events DC told the Council it is responsible for RFK demolition (scheduled to finish October 2026), oversees the campus fields and festival grounds, and is contributing about $180 million toward parking facilities tied to redevelopment.

Members of the Committee on Executive Administration and Labor pressed Events DC on its role at the RFK campus. The agency said it is the administrative authority for demolition and site preparation and expects demolition work to conclude in October 2026. "We are fully responsible for the RFK Demolition that's taken place… We're slated to be done with the demolition in the fall. So October 2026," Gates said.
