The Borger Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously March 25 to interview six applicants for the districts superintendent vacancy after a briefing from consultants with the Texas Association of School Boards.
"Mr. Lumpkin announced that 6 applicants will be interviewed for the BISD Superintendent position," Board President Payton Lumpkin said when the board returned to open session. The board approved a motion to set the number of interviewees; the motion was made by Trustee Eric Schneck and seconded by Trustee Keegan Neill and passed with no dissenting votes.
The decision followed a presentation and discussion with TASB consultants Marian Stauss and Rick Howard, who reviewed the search process and next steps. The minutes record that consultants met with the board to review procedure and timelines; no additional details about candidate identities, interview dates, or scoring criteria appear in the minutes.
