The Bryan ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously Aug. 19 to extend Superintendent Ginger Carrabine’s contract through Jan. 31, 2028, following a closed-session discussion of the contract’s terms.
Trustee David Stasny moved, and Trustee Felicia Benford seconded, "that the Board of Trustees extend the Superintendent's contract through January 31, 2028, and modify the terms discussed in the closed session." The board voted in favor of the motion during the open session; board members did not disclose the specific changes announced in closed session.
The extension followed a closed session convened under Texas Government Code §551.074 for deliberation concerning appointment, employment and evaluation of a public officer and §551.0821 to discuss a student matter. No action was reported as taken during the closed session itself; the formal extension was approved after the board returned to open session.
Board President Dr. Julie Harlin adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m. after the vote. The district did not release contract details or financial terms at the meeting; the board recorded the outcome as unanimous.
