Audit staff reports Emergency Management audit in fieldwork, draft due in May

Internal Auditor Hassemer told the committee the comprehensive Emergency Management audit is in the fieldwork stage and staff have focused interviews on leaders called during emergencies. He said fieldwork should finish within the next two weeks, analysis and reporting will begin in April, and the auditors expect a draft by the end of May.
Hassemer cautioned the committee that summer recess timing likely means the Audit Committee will next review the draft in August even though the work will be completed within the fiscal year. No committee questions were raised about the Emergency Management audit during the update.
