Ferris ISD board authorizes Ellis Appraisal District to protest Comptroller's property value study

The Ferris Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a resolution authorizing the Ellis Appraisal District (EAD) chief appraiser or another EAD employee to act as agent to file a protest against the Texas Comptroller's 2024 Property Value Study and/or an audit of previous years' values for Ferris ISD.
Trustee Nancy Salmon made the motion to approve the resolution and Trustee Hershana Rouwtt seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The resolution empowers EAD staff to act on the district's behalf in contesting valuation findings that could affect the district's appraised values and thereby tax revenues.
