At the Oct. 21 meeting, the Gladewater ISD board approved a package of operational items, from a vendor purchase to policy-level procurement changes. Trustee Cori Arevalo moved to approve a purchase from CoolVu; Trustee Rickie Blackmon seconded and the motion carried 6–0.
CFO Candy Keller presented an interlocal memorandum of understanding with the City of Gladewater for the School Resource Officer program; Trustee Ross Morgan moved to approve the SRO program agreement and Trustee Rickie Blackmon seconded, with the motion carrying 6–0. The board also approved a resolution to raise the micro‑purchase threshold from $10,000 to TEA’s approved $25,000 (motion by Ross Morgan, second by Cori Arevalo) and updated authorizations on CNB bank accounts (motion by Garth Cockerell, second by Danielle Budro); both motions carried 6–0.
Interim Superintendent Mike Morrison presented the 2024–25 District Improvement Plan and campus improvement plans for Gladewater Primary, Weldon Elementary and Gladewater Middle School; Trustee Ross Morgan moved to approve the district and campus plans and Trustee Danielle Budro and Trustee Cori Arevalo seconded where noted. The motions carried 6–0. These approvals set spending limits, vendor relationships and operational authorizations for the coming year.
