The Deuel County Board of Commissioners voted to deny a levy request from the Big Springs Cemetery District, citing that the district may request its own levy as authorized by voters in the May 12, 2026 primary election and consistent with state statute. The motion to deny was made by Commissioner William Klingman and seconded by Commissioner Jean Timm; the recorded vote was Klingman, aye; Timm, aye; Reichman, aye.
