Springport residents form SCAMO, press board on traffic and blasting risks

Several Springport residents used the Planning Board’s public-comment period on Sept. 17 to criticize the Town Board’s recent rezoning of the Staehr property and to announce a local opposition group. The minutes state, "A small group of residents have formed a group called 'SCAMO', Springport Citizens Against Mining Operations." The group and individual residents said they were disappointed with the notice given to neighbors about the rezoning decision.
