"We have a nitrate lab audit coming up on March 3," S1 told the board, adding that the department may see increased demand from neighboring counties that lack their own nitrate facilities. Staff cautioned that higher testing volumes and supply costs may require adjustments to fee schedules and resource allocation next year.
Board members discussed whether the department should update fee schedules and coordinate with local well drillers and municipalities about testing responsibilities. No fee schedule changes were adopted at the meeting; staff said they will continue planning and report back.
