President Farshid Niroumand called for an executive/closed session at 12:31 p.m., citing Texas Government Code Chapter 551.071, 551.072, 551.074, 551.076 and 551.129, and stated the board would reconvene in open session at the conclusion of the closed session with no action taken while in closed session. The transcript records that board secretary Leabeth Abt excused herself from the closed session at 2:32 p.m.
