Council debates utility-rate resolution; mayor recommends temporary 5% increase pending study

Councilors debated Resolution 2025-08, which proposes increases to town water and solid-waste rates. Mayor Scott told the council that Florida Rural Water (transcribed as "Fl Rural Water") is conducting a water-rate study and said the town should adopt a modest interim increase while awaiting the study results: “We recommend a 5% increase until we get the data back from Fl rural water, as they explained to us that they anticipate a significant increase recommendation.”
