Cherokee County approves Road & Bridge hire, pay raises and authorizes CDL training agreement
The Cherokee County Board approved hiring Jermy Bible as Utility/Operator II at $17.00/hr, raised Kevin Vanderpool’s pay to $18.50/hr for a mechanic role, and authorized a CDL training reimbursement agreement for Road & Bridge staff; the department reported asphalt work and Star Road work beginning.

Chair Myra Carlisle Frazier presided as the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners on July 7, 2025, and approved personnel moves for the Road and Bridge department. The board voted to hire Jermy Bible as a Utility/Operator II effective July 7, 2025, at $17.00 per hour and to raise Kevin Vanderpool’s hourly wage from $17.50 to $18.50 to reflect his change in role to Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Both motions passed unanimously.
