Council hears update that Indiana County CIS is dropping its foster program

During new business, the council solicitor (voice 10) briefed members that Indiana County CIS is discontinuing its foster program. The solicitor said the reasons for the decision are "multifaceted" and called for a broader review of how the situation developed. He added that affected foster parents are being asked to transfer to other agencies to maintain their foster-parent status and that Children's and Youth Services and other agencies remain in place to care for children.
