Board hears construction progress on multipurpose facility and athletic projects

Facilities staff told the board that foundations and early above-grade work are complete on the new multipurpose facility and that West and North Campus athletic improvements are progressing toward November 2026 completion targets.
Facilities lead (Mr. Bushenberg) presented renderings and recent photos of projects across district campuses, including the new multipurpose facility and athletic improvements at West and North campuses. He said foundations and footers for the multipurpose facility are complete, underground utilities are underway and the project is beginning to rise above grade.
"The foundation and footers are complete on this," the facilities lead said while showing construction photos, adding that contractors have started the first courses of block and begun underground electric and plumbing. Trustees also reviewed renderings for expanded dugouts, a larger backstop, a new concession/press-box area and site grading for turf installation at the North Campus. The presenter gave an anticipated completion date of November 2026 for West Campus phases and described cost-saving choices (field-goal-sleeve changes) intended to avoid vendor lock-in.
