Crime Stoppers seeks continued Eagle support with a lower flat fee

Bree, representing Crime Stoppers of Idaho, thanked Eagle for earlier support and asked the council to continue funding the anonymous tip program at a proposed flat rate of $2,000 for FY27. She said the organization provides a 24/7 tip line, a P3 app and rewards for tips that lead to felony arrests.

"This program is necessary for the state of Idaho as a whole, and we hope that with the continued partnership with each of the cities and counties, we can continue to make sure that everyone knows that we're all working together to keep our streets safe," Bree told the council. She cited 1,451 tips in 2025 (up 30% from 2024) and 16 arrests for that year; since inception Crime Stoppers reported about 21,426 tips and 681 arrests.

Council members asked a range of questions about partner municipalities, administrative costs and outcome metrics. Bree said most operational expenses are minimal (volunteer board; one paid administrative coordinator), that cash rewards come from donations and sponsorships, and that program results are passed to law enforcement for investigation. One councilmember disclosed a volunteer board role before deliberations, and the city attorney provided guidance on conflict‑of‑interest disclosure practices.

No appropriation vote was taken at the meeting; council will review the request during upcoming budget sessions.
