Council denies Larsen-Sant Library donation request but offers permit-fee relief

The Larsen-Sant Library Board requested a monetary contribution and a waiver of building-permit fees for an expansion project. Council discussed that the library is a taxing district and that a city donation could mean municipal tax dollars plus library taxes would both support the project. After discussion the council voted to deny the monetary donation request but to give favorable consideration to waiving the city’s portion of building permit fees when a permit is presented.
