Huron board plans joint Planning–Zoning workshop; member to step down at year-end

Chairman George Steffler said he discussed holding a workshop with the Planning and Zoning Boards with Roger Gallant and proposed scheduling training to coordinate board efforts. No date was set during the Oct. 2 meeting; Steffler characterized the idea as a training opportunity for both boards.
In other business, Planning Board member Kyle Shultes told the group that he will step down from the Planning Board at the end of the year. Larry Lockwood provided a brief external update, reporting that the Wayne County Planning Board approved a cannabis law. The meeting adjourned at 7:47 p.m. on a motion by George Steffler, seconded by Alexandra Welsh; all voted in favor.
