Council adopts first 2026 budget amendment adding $35,000 for digital reader boards

Kristen Reed, finance director, presented Ordinance 2841, the first budget amendment for 2026 and the meeting's second reading. Reed said she made small changes between readings, including adding "$35,000 for 2 digital reader boards," to be paid from the street fund and split across IT funding percentages; she also said Fund 35 (Facilities Fund) will be brought below the reserve policy as a result of the amendment.
Committee recommended approval; council moved to approve the budget amendment on second reading and the motion passed by voice vote. Reed remained available to answer follow-up finance questions from council members.
