In agenda item 5.E the LaPoynor ISD Board of Trustees voted to give the superintendent authority to offer contracts to prospective employees from May through August. The minutes record: "A motion was made to give the Superintendent authorization to offer contracts to perspective employees from May thru August." John Kinabrew made the motion and Lesley Young seconded it; the motion passed 6–0 with one absence.
