Resident Amy Lawhorn (speaker 14) asked the board to support an eight‑step VDOT traffic‑calming study for the residential corridor of Main Street. Lawhorn said she had collected 24 signatures (well above the minimum of 10 requested by VDOT) and that a FOIA request showed 57 traffic stops and 40 summonses in an 18‑month period, reinforcing that enforcement alone cannot solve the issue.
