Board appoints members to standing committees and task forces, including drug task force representative

The board moved through a series of appointments to standing committees and advisory boards during the organizational meeting. Chair Block read names for one-year and multi-year appointments and commissioners moved and seconded to approve the slates.

Notable appointments included Larry Sheldon as the police chief association representative to the Drug Task Force for a one-year term and a list of information-technology planning committee appointees (Dawn Cubitt, Tracy Franzel, Leslie Hogendorf, Nathan Smith, Scott Bals and Nathan Roski). The board also approved LEPC emergency management committee appointments for one-year terms and read a longer slate of county chair appointments to boards such as the Board of Public Works, budget committee membership and landfill advisory roles.

Why this matters: these appointments fill the leadership of county advisory boards and committees that oversee planning, emergency management, technology and other county functions. Members named will represent county interests and carry out committee responsibilities during 2026.
