Sheriff’s office announces promotion, retirement date and training updates
Lieutenant Michael Gammicchia reported staffing and training updates: Corrections Officer Micheala Peer will be promoted to corporal on Aug. 25; Lt. Gammicchia’s retirement is next Friday and Corporal Katie Tessner will be sworn in as Jail Administrator at 1:00 P.M.; jail food vendor change may bring a 5% price increase in 2026.

Lieutenant Michael Gammicchia told the Board that two internal applicants sought the corporal promotion and Corrections Officer Micheala Peer was selected; her promotion is scheduled for Aug. 25. Gammicchia said the application period for a vacant part-time corrections officer position closes tomorrow, and Correction Officer D. Brown will attend the Corrections Academy next month.
