Abbott ISD board approves Student Code of Conduct, Professional Development plan and related policy updates

The board unanimously adopted the Student Code of Conduct, the 2024–25 Professional Development Plan, the Teacher Appraisal Calendar, the 2023–24 ESL Report, TASB Local Policy Update 123, and a volunteer program policy at the Aug. 14 meeting.
During the Aug. 14 meeting the Abbott I.S.D. Board approved a cluster of policy and program items that govern student conduct, staff evaluation and volunteer participation.
The board adopted the Student Code of Conduct for 2024–2025; approved the Teacher Appraisal Calendar and the district’s 2024–2025 Professional Development Plan; accepted the 2023–2024 ESL Report; adopted TASB Local Policy Update 123; and adopted GKG (LOCAL) Community Relations—School Volunteer Program. Motions to approve these items were made and seconded by trustees (recorded motions show Lauren Wolf, Doug Pustejovsky, and Craig Sustala among movers and seconders) and each motion passed unanimously (7–0).
