Aug 19, 2025
Grand County's building department proposed an updated fee schedule to better reflect inspection workloads and actual construction valuations, recommending lower fees for minor permits (roofs/windows) but substantial increases for mobile-home setups and advanced wastewater-permit work; staff will produce a formal public packet and comparative analysis for commissioners before a hearing.

Robert Wilson, chief building official, presented a comprehensive review of building permit fees (last updated in 2017) and proposed adjustments to bring fees in line with actual staff time and inspection workloads.
