The Lockney City Council voted unanimously Nov. 18 to decline a request to contribute to establishing a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Lockney Independent School District. Floyd County Sheriff Paul Raissez presented the proposal; Councilman Donnie McLaughlin moved that "the City of Lockney does not participate in helping fund a School Resource Officer," and Councilman Edward Marks seconded. The motion carried with all members voting in favor.
