Burton ISD board unanimously extends multiple administrator contracts
The board approved one-year extensions for Superintendent Vikki Curry and several principals, business manager and athletic director, setting contract end-dates through 2027–2028; two administrative contracts were tabled for later consideration.

The Burton ISD board voted 7-0 to extend a series of administrator contracts during the Feb. 9 meeting. Motions carried to extend Superintendent Vikki Curry's contract by one year (through June 30, 2028); Elementary Principal Melinda Fuchs by one year (through June 30, 2028); High School Principal Micah Goebel by one year (through June 30, 2028); Elementary Assistant Principal Jamie Odom by one year (through June 30, 2027); High School Assistant Principal Ashley Countouriotis by one year (through June 30, 2027); Business Manager Caitlyn Blakey-Staal by one year (through June 30, 2027); Athletic Director Jason Hodde by one year (through June 30, 2028); and Special Education Director Holly Horton by one year (through June 30, 2027).
