District reports radon tests completed; one area retested after adjustments

Superintendent/staff told the board that radon mitigation work on affected school buildings has been completed and tested. "So those are completed. It's done, which included testing in the system before Cody did the walk through," the superintendent reported, adding that one site required additional adjustments (longer boreholes and larger fan) and that after the changes the radon level "went down where it's supposed to be."
Staff recommended retesting other facilities once school is in session and will report findings to the board; the safety committee has concluded its primary work and radon testing and follow-up will be reported to the full board. No health-safety incidents were reported to the board at the meeting.
