The Abernathy Independent School District Board of Trustees convened a special meeting June 9, 2025, at Board Room 505, 7th Street, Abernathy, and entered closed session at 12:01 p.m. under the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Section 551.074, to conduct second-round interviews for the superintendent position. Board members present included Marcus Sullivan (President), David Carver (Vice President), Matt Miller (Secretary), Ty Horsford, Manuel Adames, Mike Magallanes and Matt Riley; Ed Sharp, listed as Interim Superintendent, and two other attendees (Wayne Blount and Scott Marshall) were also present.
