The Coffey County Board of Commissioners approved a series of payroll notices and personnel actions in the Aug. 10 meeting, including step changes and new‑hire notifications.
The board approved a step change for Austin Weese (Deputy Director/Radiological Officer) and passed new‑hire payroll notices for Ethan Clay and Sergio Rodriguez (Corrections 1) with effective dates noted in the motions. The board also approved a backdated personnel paperwork item for a highway heavy equipment operator (recognizing completion of CDL training effective June 15) and recorded wage classification and step changes for Clayton Bowman. Where clerical issues were identified later in the meeting, the board rescinded and corrected an earlier payroll motion and re‑approved the corrected version before the session adjourned.
Each personnel motion was approved by voice vote recorded in the minutes as 5–0. The meeting record shows the board asked clerks and the county attorney to ensure documentation is in the correct form before funds are processed.
