The Tift County Board of Commissioners voted on July 13 to table a road-abandonment request for a portion of Southern Avenue that was submitted by Chad VanOrman (agent). County Manager Jim Carter told the board there are outstanding questions about who owns or holds the right-of-way on the road, and asked that the item be deferred until the August meeting for clarification.
