County corrections program reports 60 participants and $50,000 operating budget

Debbie Cox presented the current program and budget update for the Cleveland County Community Corrections program at the Oct. 14 meeting.
Cox reported 60 participants are currently enrolled and said the program's goal is to increase that number to secure a higher budget allocation. She reported the program is operating on a $50,000 budget for the fiscal year and that $5,774 has been spent so far. Cox also noted an administrative balance of $72,274 available for items such as drug-testing supplies, remote-use tools and alcohol monitors and said spending areas are concentrated on substance-abuse services and LSI providers. Cox referenced long-term provider relationships, noting that "Alan Duprie has been used for over 20 years," as suggested historically by Dave Stockwell.
The minutes record program activity since July 1 as eight individuals sentenced into the program and 13 LSI cases. No additional questions were raised during the presentation.
