County legislator urges stronger open‑space language and flags county funding

Virginia Scott, representing Orange County, told the hearing the county planning department had provided advisory comments and suggested the town include language in the implementation chapter encouraging applications to the Orange County Open Space Fund. Scott said the county currently has funds available and urged the town to make stronger use of county programs to protect natural and cultural resources.
She also suggested referencing county programs that can finance rooftop solar and other resiliency upgrades and recommended elevating county planning references in the plan's implementation chapter so towns know how to pursue available financing and support.
