Miss Meyer, speaking for the school division, told the board the $2,100,000 figure discussed during prior meetings is the required local match under the state’s funding calculation and not an overpayment. She said the match is part of roughly $7,000,000 in total program funding (about $5,000,000 state funds and $2,000,000 local) and cautioned that without those combined funds, the division would be forced to cut pre-K, reading specialists, at-risk funding and many staff positions.
