Commissioner Jeremy Mansfield said at a town hall that the fastest way to get repairs started on the historic Latimer House at William and Martha Brown Park is to transfer the 0.805‑acre life‑estate parcel to the local nonprofit with a reverter clause. "If they fail to receive that status, the house is fixed and it turns back over to the county," Mansfield said.
