Library officials defend services as council approves $1.2M request
Hooksett library trustees and director told council that recent renovations were covered mostly by insurance and trust funds; the FY26-27 operating request of $1,201,633 is flat with last year's request and was approved after discussion about part-time hours and default-budget risks.

Library board chair Sandra Mack and Director Heather Rainier presented the library's FY26-27 operating budget request and an update on renovation work after flood damage. Mack said "the majority of the funds for the renovation did come from the insurance, as well as our trust funds and fundraising such as our TD Bank affinity program," and added that only minimal tax dollars were used for carpet and maintenance lines.
